Katie Roberts

Registered Manager

I have worked at Bryn Y Wawr since 2008 and during my time here I have progressed from Support Worker to Senior Support Worker and in 2012 I became the youngest person in Oakview Care to hold a managerial position when I became Assistant Manager. In 2017, I was promoted to the position of Manager. I have a QCF Level 5 Registered Managers Award as well as a NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care. I am registered with Social Care Wales.

I strive to ensure that Bryn Y Wawr provides a homely environment for the Ladies to live in. I work closely with the staff team to ensure the service and care we provide are at the highest level. We have a close-knit team of 5 Seniors and 11 Support Workers. We also have a full time Handyman to maintain the  quality of the home and it's grounds.

I am proud of the great team we have at Bryn Y Wawr, all the team undertake a detailed induction and comprehensive training. We expect everyone to complete a QCF qualification to develop their skills and experiences. I love spending time with the Ladies at Bryn Y Wawr. I feel like we are all one big, happy family!

Natasha Ellson

Assistant Manager

My name is Natasha Ellson and I am the Assistant Manager at Bryn Y Wawr.

I started work here as a Support Worker in 2004 with limited experience of working with people with learning disabilities. Previously I worked as an Office Administrator. I thoroughly enjoyed working at Bryn Y Wawr and wanted to pursue a career here.

I was promoted to Senior Support Worker in 2008, then achieved my NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care the following year.

Since then I have progressed from Care and Support Team Manager to becoming Assistant Manager.

I have built a great relationship with our Ladies over the years and get great satisfaction from my job.

I feel I have a strong working relationship with Katie, our Manager, as we have known each other since childhood.

Bryn y Wawr has always been a very happy place to work.
